Is IU Bloomington prestigious? ›

The Cheating and Plagiarism Policy prohibits academic dishonesty of any kind, including (but not limited to) cheating, plagiarism, fabrication, violation of course rules, or alteration of course records.

Unless otherwise explicitly stated, a grade of D– or higher is sufficient for successful completion of a course in the General Education Common Ground curriculum. In order to apply toward the General Education Common Ground requirements, a course must be GenEd-approved for the semester in which the course is taken.

Letter Grading

Grades A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D- indicate passing grades; F indicates failure.

Candidates for all bachelor's degrees in the College of Arts and Sciences must complete the Public Oral Communication requirement. A course in Public Oral Communication prepares students in the liberal arts to communicate effectively with public audiences.

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale. Indiana University Bloomington and School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering accepts weighted GPAs if provided on your high school transcript. All GPAs will be converted to a 4.0 scale by the Office of Admissions.
